Its going to be hard to prove the rotor company was at fault. There going to say that they are for show only or they werent instaled right. I dont think there going to give up with out a fight.. My brothers a lawyer in DC ill ask him for some advice for you..

yeah cross drilled rotors have stress fractures around the holes. It's best to get them cast with holes or get vented rotors.
Lucky him man. :dsm: :talon: :laser: :thumb:

Wow, I am really concernd about this. When I had my Porsche 928 S, me and a few other Porsche drivers went on a group buy from a company. At the time I was not aware the seriousness of drilling rotors after they were built. A freind of mine was. We ended up getting the rotors, then one night outside of Handford "it is a nucular storage plant in the middle of nowhere, no cars ect like somethin out of a movie" .. well we were doing a top speed run. My freind was slowing down and his rotor snaped and locked up his wheel. Sent his 930 into a spin, almost hit another guy in a 911sc, then into a roll. He ended up with a totaled car, a reckless driving ticket, and the company fell back on it was not their fault and gave him the shaft. I took mine off the next day.

Where is a reputable company to get these from besides Brembo. I have used real brembos before with no problems.

if there are zero reasons, why do so many race cars, high performance cars ect use them?

these were cast rotors, so it should have never happened, and it was magnus that installed them, and even they said it shouldnt have happened.

turboTSi1320 any help you can get legally would be greatly appreciated...Im going to get the rotor and the rim inspected, I will post a pic of the rotor soon

now can you really tell me that this happened JUST because of the slots?

Thats ugly man. Something you dont want to have break on ya.... Wont be buying that brand anytime soon.

Glad your ok, and live to drive another day~

Yeah I know I seen this thing and it's just screwed, I used to take a rotor off a car with a sledge and it wouldn't even break... so you can't tell me that happened from getting it on the tow truck or some bs story. I wouldn't sit on this, I say you fight it until the day they die. I never liked roto-tech anyway, there company looked cheesey and stuff.

I like Powerstop, they are NICE rotors.

wow man i'm really sorry to hear this... i'm glad you are fine, that was a crazy looking accident... you are lucky you were in a country type area... if that would of happened here in miami, you would of been out for sure... but i'm glad you are okay...

one more thing, are eclipses made out of steel also? i thought they were made out of aluminum...

glad to hear you are ok. damn, thats nuts.

as far as strength is concerned, would slotted and dimpled be a better way to go than slotted and drilled?

As far as who made the Rotors, they were ROTO-tech, and yes they were slotted/cross-drilled, but i had been assured that they would be fine, as i had concerns of weakened integrity with the holes...but I will keep you all updated on the progress of the newer one...and im getting different rotors..

He did....

Yikes! Glad you're ok bro, I just put some no name big brake upgrade on my GST...... :(

well hey man let me know if you need me to ask my brother anything.. Pm me if you need to..

I can empathize with you here man, it sucks when your car gets totalled because of something/someone outside your control. Good luck with the rebuild! Glad your OK

wow that really really really really sucks. Oh crap. i actually just installed a pair of those rotors on my bros 1g fwd :dsm: . Damn now its making me think twice. I work at a performance shop over here in chicago and almost all of our cars have those rotors. Uh Oh hopefully nothing happens.:sosad:

I wonder what ever happend to this guy. If he got another car.

Considering this thread is a year and a half old. At least it shows that people are using the search feature, right?

Goddamn!!! Am I getting older or are all of these old threads repeating themselves. ITs bad when half of the really old reposts I remember reading for the first time back then.

Wow Im really reliefed that when I finished witrh the story it ended that the driver and passenger was fine. And just to say the least someone up above really needs your for something down here so keep it safe and I hope you take that company for everything they got.
