I'm putting in a Megan Racing Cat-Back tomorrow and I was wondering if anyone has any advice for removing the stock exhaust system. I already smothered all of the hangers and bolts with PB blaster and I'm going to do it again tomorrow morning. One specific thing I wanted to know is if I can spray PB on the O2 sensor to loosen it up without damaging it? If not does anyone have any tips for removing it and reinstalling it in a way that I don't get a CEL? Thanks for your help.

Your on the right track with the PB buster on everything. Make sure you heat up the O2 sensor before you try to take it off. Use a small propane torch or just run the car until the pipe is warm/hot. Other then that be ready to buy new bolts/nuts. Even with a ton of PB buster on mine I managed to shear about 4 of them. Good luck!

I cranked on the hangers. Snapped most of the bolts off. Shoved them out with a screw driver. Then once I got all the hangers but the last few out I cut the exhaust around the rear axle because I didn't have a lift at the time. Then to install the new one all the hardware plus a few bolts and using the old sleeves it went up great. Mine isn't MR but still probably close. I recommend a lift to put it on at least. Jack and stands will remove it. If you went with anything 3 inches or larger over the back axle be prepared to SHOVE it up in there. I think they go under on a GSX though so I think your good. Goodluck! :p

Well I thought my MR cat-back was coming today but apparently its on three weeks backorder so I don't have to worry about removing my stock exhaust any time soon.

That stinks, you didn't know it ws on back order when you ordered it?

Nope they just called me yesterday to say that there was something they had to talk to me about my order but I wasn't able to call them back. I called them this morning and they said that Megan Racing said that they are on 3 weeks backorder. FYI I ordered this from ExtremePSI and I live an hour away and it usually takes two days for me to get my orders. I'm really pissed off now because in three weeks I probably won't have time to put it on.

I know etreme is usually pretty good about it. Not their fault, but should have told you sooner, seeing how you were expecting them today.

Yeah I order most my stuff from ExtremePSI and they are usually pretty good. I'm more mad at Megan Racing right now. They probably have to make more, I don't know how many people are buying cat-backs for 15 year-old eclipses.

The guys from megan racing are retarded they sent me a whole cat back system with a CRUSHED muffler and wanted me to pay for a 30% restocking fee for their mistake and PAY to send it back to them.

I also bought their downpipe with the kit. I guess I got their valued customer treatment.

given i have the "other" platform (kinda like the other white meat LOL)
i have the megan racing catback and header/downpipe. everythings lines up and bolts directly where the stock was. it only took me about a week to get my parts and i live out of the country.

Did you end up having to pay the restocking fee?
