I am currently building my 420a "99 2.0 sohc neon block" to replace my 96 eclipse block, that has a rod sticking out of the pan.

My neon short block has a cast alum pan. The differences look like just the location of the drain plug. Is it possible to use this. It doesnt look like it will hit the cross member of my 96 mT, non turbo 2.0 eclipse. I think the exaust will be tight because the neon exaust manifold goes down back of head, and does not cross under pan. I think that the only big difference is the pan is deeper, and the pickup is longer, and the drain plug instead of being on the pass side its on more near the middle.

So has anyone ever tried this and will it work..

I searched prior to posing and this is my first post.... :sneaky:
