I don't see anything wrong with a U shaped manifold. This guy makes 806whp with a big U shape. I think they call it a top mount in Asia, but I'm no expert.

I think the hobbled togerther look just ads to the sleeper effect. I like the play on words. Instead of "Ghetto Fabulous" "Ghetto Fabrication"
 
Yes, I understand top mounts. But, I've never seen a turbo manifold reduce from four to two or one like in the above picture, unless it was a rear mount turbo. The ones I've seen have the four exhaust ports run to the turbo flange. I guess it's a first for me.

I think it's a twin scroll, so the manifold should go four into two, and then enter the turbine housing at the bottom. Then a single huge exhaust exits that, and goes out the side of the bumper cover or whatever.

Ah a friend of mine has a Ranger with that exact same stripe thing from the dealer.

Oh wait.... that might just a reflection the paint. WTF....
