Langley,
I just thought of something. I am sure there are answers to this somewhere. what would happen if I sprayed some Throttle Body Cleaner directly into the combustion chamber to clean off any carbon build-up? would the engine hydrolock or would I need to spray a lot in there to make that happen? would it damage rings or anything? any other suggestions

How do you know you have a carbon problem?

I used Mopar Combustion Chamber Cleaner, the overnight method using 2 cans. The results were phenomenal. The motor had 111k on it when I did it, 123k on it when I took it completely apart. The valves looked frikkin' brand new. I could still see the crosshatching on the shiny cylinder walls, and there wasn't a flake of anything stuck on anything.

No matter what you do, change your oil and plugs when you're done. If you do the MCCC thing, read the vfaq on it, and change your oil twice after warming the car up completely each time.

last time I removed the plugs it looked a little dirty in the combustion chamber and it looked like there was carbon on the pistons.

It won't come in contact with any seals. Your rings are made of metal. It will leak down into the crankcase and break down your engine oil on contact, but it can't hurt anything unless you're crazy enough to drive your car with it in the crankcase.

Im just curious why theres a stress on changing the oil so soon. Doesnt it say on the can to put it in the gas or oil? If it says to put it in the oil then i would think it cant contaminate it that badly...

Sorry forget to say i was talking about Seafoam... on the can im 99% sure it says you can add it in your gas or oil
