i just did a motor swap. its a 92 motor in a 92 talon. nothing special just got everything bolted up and went to start the car. nothing. just clicking from under the dash. i can hear the pump turn on but i get nothing in the engine bay. the starter doesnt turn. nothin. doesnt smell like fuel anywhere. all connections are made. starter is connected. ecu is new....wtf. unless the ecu took a shit in a week. or maybe the starters connection is loose. but i reached back there and felt it and it was tight. any suggestions would. help.

Is the battery in good shape. I have had several of my customers cars witht he same problem. if you havnt figured it out pm me and tell me what youve done so far to try and correct the problem but trying to to diagnos a no-start problem over the net is really hard

im at work right now. i plan on goin home and trying the battery connection. it is very loose. like i can just slip it on and off the terminals. but all of the interior stuff is on even when i try turning the key. all the accesories stay on and dont shut off when i try starting it like normal when there is a battery problem. ill pm you after i try it.

ok well i just replaced both neg/pos battery terminals. still nothing. the only thing i get is a clicking from the small brass box next to the ecu directly under the radio and the fuel pump pumping. nothing in the engine bay. no injectors clicking, and no starter. all grounds are good. i have the trans ground on the higher of the two starer bolts on the bell housing. i swapped starter relays with another car. i put a jumper lead to the starter and it kicked the starter over right away, so the starter solenoid is good. maybe ignition switch went bad in a week? any suggestions?

Did you remember to plug in the starter motor harness? Also is everything pluged into the correct place? This would be a good place to start, just to make sure something was not omitted.
