Okay so I changed plugs and wires did an oil change. And had my ecu socketed and installed ecmlink V3. I also changed balbe cover gaskets as well. So Here I am anxious to go out and do some logging. And now the darn thing wont start! I dont know if I have the firing order wrong or what. And also when the key is in accesory mode. There is a loud clicking like tick noise coming from back behind the cd player and maybe under the engine bay as well???? And it turns over and wants to and almost does start just wont turn the rest of the way over
Im at a loss...

did the car sit for a while?
check the battery and make sure it has a full charge
if u just changed to oil and plugs/ wires i cant see what the problem would be?
did ## car have any problems before this?
does it crank?, more info bra :thumb:

Car only sat for 3 days.. Nope it had zero problems until now. And yes it cranks over even has a poooomp noise through the exhaust as its trying to start like its sparking the mixture almost but not finishing the process.?

Did you do one plug at a time or just take all the wires off and then replace? Plug gap to .28? Any smoke out of the exhaust when it's cranking? Sounds like this may be a problem for Steve seems how it was fine until you got your ecu socketed. Maybe he'll jump in on this one and you can give some pics to make sure it looks right. Does it crank like it normally would but doesn't start or is it sluggish? All grounds good and tight? Sorry for all the questions but it really helps rule things out.

Taking the least obvious out of the equation..you have air. Pull one of your plugs, ground it out and check for spark. Have a guage for fuel pressure? Not sure about the ecu but these are just some simple things that i'm sure you knew anyways..

I hate when stuff like this happens. I try to do one project at a time so that if something does go wrong i can backtrack very easily without doing diagnostics like a madman

I took all the plugwires off at once.... And today I go out and now the dashlights are flashing on and off like im flipping the headlight switch on and off when im not.

Yes I checked that. Now the car wont even start.. I changed batteries so I know its not that. I think the alarm thing is keeping it from starting now. Because it wont even turnover. I had my firing order wrong so I believe that was the problem but I cant find out until I get it to where I can start it. And I dont have a remote so I dont know how to pull the alarm off. I pulled the fuse and it did nothing..

Sounds like the definition of a bad day...

Is the battery new? When my battery died it didn't have enough power to turn the car over or lock the doors. However it did have enough power to set off the alarm. Go figure... If it is a battery that has been sitting it might not have enough to turn the car over.

Anyone have any suggestions on turning off the alarm?

If the car has an alarm its dealer installed. Stick you head down and look into the ECU harness there should be a wire that is ran out of the loom (usuallY) its the wire they add to the pinout for the alarm. You can usually remove it but if not just do what the noob said and lock unlock lock this should deactivate it. If your lights are flashing you might double check the connections on the battery it sounds like a short

I hate to say this but I had an almost identical problem with my 1g awd. Who socketed your ecu? Because I screwed up my socket job and when I turned the key to the On position I had a random repeating clicking from behind the radio, sent the ecu to ecmtuning, was told the socket job was bad, they fixed me right up and got me back on the road, and for not that much $$ either...

A friend did it....Hes done them for people before. But im thinking it mightve just been accidental. Im begginning to think it is the ecu as well! Actually im almost positive now...
What did they do to fix your ecu? Did you give them a call or what?

I sent ecmlink a message im just waiting for them to contact me back. Im actually hoping it is the ecu so at least I know what the problem is and they can fix it for me and get me back in business!
