ok so when i was driving the yesterday i decided to have a little fun.. put it in 1st pushed it to about 6500 rpm. was about to shift then my tranny went out.. turns out the shifter cable popped out from where the "U" thing holds it.. brought it home and put cable back on... shifts good when car is off but wont go into gear when car is on.. the only gear it goes into is 3rd, 4th and reverse but it has to be pushed in with a bit of strenth.. idk what it could be.. its really bugging me out??

Reach down to the connections on your transmition and see if they move freely. Where the shifter cables connect too. One should move side to side, and the other forward and back.

yeah i have moved them side to side and up and down... i juts dont know what happen.

This has happened to me. I broke my clutch release fork. I could turn the car on and it would idle a little. But, go to put it in gear no luck. My car would not go into 1st nor 2nd gear, Only 3rd and 4th with some force!. When was the last time you changed your clutch? Reason Im asking is that on our cars, anytime you change out your clutch its a good thing to always replace the clutch fork and fulcrum ball. I hope this helps you out.

yeah and when i try to put it in 5th it grinds really loud before it goes in... how is the for suppose to work.. does it go up or too the side?? how exactly?? cause i told my couse to press the clutch to see if it would move and it would move to the side.. how much do they cost and how would i put that on??

Yah your shift fork went out on you, because my brothers car just did the same thing about a week ago, and we tore it apart to find the fork snapped in half so we are right in the middle of doing a new clutch assy, which is what it sounds like you will need to do also.

this kind of happend to me, except i lost 2nd 4th and reverse. what happen was my cable actually snapped

yeah i replaced the cables just last month so i dont think they are it. it goes into gear when car is off but when i turn it on it wont go in.. i am a college student and its my only mode of transportation... i just hope i can fix it.. How much does it cost to replace the fork? and what are the symptoms of a broken fork?? and the only way to see whats going on is taking off tranny right??

One way you could check is jack the car up and put on stands if u have them then have some one in the car pushing the cluctch in and out while u get under it and look on the tranny u will see the the fork moveing back and fourth pull or that rubber dust blocker and look inside the tranny with a small light u might be able to see if its broken or not on the inside.

oh ok.. yeah ill see that.. i am going to take my car to the shop either today or monday .. they said it might just be the clutch itself..so i'll let you know what happens

ok.. so it was just some pin in the clutch pedal works now.. but once again i have another problem..
