i just installed my downpipe, hallman manual boost controller, and boost a/f guages...everything was running good for about 5 days but i went outside to crank it and it was dead i jumped it off and it was good untill i turned my car off again...well i jumped it off yesterday and it would drive good but if i let off the gas the idle would drop almost to a kill...so im thinkin alternator maybe???? all input is greatly thanked!!!

Yes, your alternator could more than likely be the culprit. I would check the battery first thought to see if it can hold a charge by taking it to autozone or an equivalent place. Also check to make sure your battery's neg and pos terminals are connected tightly.

Also check for boost leaks throughout all your intercooler piping to see if thats causing your terrbile idle. Are you recirculating your blow off valve?

If both check out, pull that alternator and have it tested at the same place. More than likely its bad, but its always nice to check the easier stuff while your at it.

The first poster is right. Probably the alternator but the battery might not be able to hold a charge. My batteries usually last 2 years and then die quickly so it could be the battery. The battery is easier to remove so test that first.

Just like the others said it's probably the alternator. I would take them both out and have them checked because a bad alternator can kill a new battery. Better to be safe than sorry. When you take it out to have it checked be sure they check how many amps it putting out. I've had two different alternators die and both of them tested fine for voltage. I had to argue with the guy the second time because he didn't believe me when I told him about the amperage problems with the last one. If your eating up alternators and batteries (not that you are) you should check out the caps in the ECU. My fiends DSM would eat up a battery and alternator about once a month. He went nuts trying to find the cause and it turned out to be the ECU. If it happens again soon start there but yours was probably just worn out.

Do your common charging tests. Make sure both fusible links are getting the same amount of voltage with the car off and on. Know that the two fusible links (labled, alternator and the second one may not be labled but it should be the battery) are always hot, if you only read voltage off the battery link, then the your alternator link is dead. Of course you should physically check them as well and first. Also remove them and ohm them out. Don't forget to check both sides of the fusible links (I'm talking about the bolts that hold them down), there are two bolts, one on each side.
