I bought my 92 Laser AWD off of a member of this board about a month and a half ago, and its been nothing but trouble ever since, Not like you would think though, He never Came with me to switch the titles so I had an unregistered car outside my apartment almost getting towed all the time, Luckily I found someone who just got it done for me! finally. Anyways it has 95k original miles, almost all stock. I got the car starting running, ideling pretty nicely now but when i first take off alot of smoke comes out, Can't really tell what color it is white/gray but after that when I park and idle it still is smoking, not as much but still is. Also the turbo doesnt seem to be working, I don't know why, absolutley no shaft play, I just got steel braided lines put on and everything seemed fine. The one injector is missing a clip to attatch it in but I dont see how that would do anything as its still just as in as the others, there was a bad spark plug in the same cylinder as the injector though. If anyone can help please let me know

Do a compression test. Grey or white smoke is coolant. It could be your headgasket. Look and see if you have oil in your coolant or coolant in your oil. If so, then chances are it's your headgasket.

As for your turbo, do you have any boost leaks somewhere? If there's no shaft play side to side then check shaft play in and out. Make sure your wastegate is opening and closing on time, aswell.

If your compression numbers are good, and your wastegate appears fine and there's no boost leaks, then you're going to have to get more in-depth and pull your turbo off and examine it. I wrote a tech article about this. Here it is, http://dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=216215

Good luck, hope this helps.
