I have a 2g n/t thats is over reved up to 3500 rpm when stopped. i scanned it and read a bad map sensor and maf sensor. i currently changed the map sensor but did not helped. i check for vacuum hoses that might be un plugged but didn't find any. i have a cold air intake but when i installed it i did not disconnect any sensors. so i don't know if the maf a sensor can be the problem.please help!!!

When i start my car its idling at 3500 rpm. its like this tell i go over 15 mph. if im in first gear and don't have the clutch down it picks up speed without me needing press the gas!!if i have the clutch down it revs up. when i stop it idles up again tell where it is sitting about at 3500 rpm.(it seems to be wearing out my clutch also.)but when im going over 15 mph(usually in a higher gear) it seems its passing alot of gas but not enough for it to pick up speed as it does in 1st gear, when i let go of the gas or put in in nuetral while slowing down.

could it be my maf? i have a cold air intake but don't remember unpluging anything. where would the maf be located in this car?

being a 420a it shouldnt have a maf, but im pretty sure it has a map, and it should be located on the intake manni somewhere.

oh and check the iac, ive heard the commonly go bad

Check your throttle cable nd make sure your not caught up, with too much tension...and also make sure your mass flow air sensor is hooked back up.

Im not too fmilar with the 420a's but they all should have one.

Its the wire hook up piece that goes on ## intake near the filter. Sometimes when thats not hooked it, the car runs like crap.

Okey-here's another test he can do: Take the throttle cable off the butterfly linkage, then start the car. If it settles down to the 750rpm setting, THEN we know his T-cable is hanging the butterfly slightly.

Otherwise, he's prob got a IAC motor that is keeping the butterfly open on the throttle linkage and that an area that needs attention.

well i checked the cable and it doesn't seem to be the problem.it might be the iac but were would thatbe located at?

resolved!!! it happended to be my intake manifold gasket. now i just need to replace it. thanks for the help!!!
