a friend of mine went to jump start my car with jumper cables, but when he hooked them up he put the + to - and - to + :notgood: . This blew my alt., ignition and the other 30Amp fuse next to the ignition fuse. I replaced the fuses, alt. and battery but i'm still blowing the ignition fuse. Searching on the forum i figure i have a short somewhere, but where do i start in finding where the short is? Any help whould be appreciated.

Slick. It probably melted insulation around 12V supply lines in various locations around the wiring harness making it short out on a ground line or the chassis. The short from 12V to ground is what is causing the fuses to blow. If you don't want to thoroughly inspect the whole thing your best bet is to rip out and replace the car's wiring completely. That's the expensive way. The less expensive way is to get REAL comfy with a continuity tester, identify all the +12V supply lines in the various harnesses around the car, disconnect all the ends from computers, sensors and such and check for a short to ground on each.

Good luck,
- SK
