Today, my car just stopped boosting. I have an AVC-R, and I think that may be the cause of this. The "high quality solenoid valve to control boost" (quote from apexi, LOL) I think just stopped working. Before it stopped boosting, the solenoid was making a really loud constant ticking sound, and I figured it was starting to go bad. Then later on, my car refused to make any boost and I heard no more weird noises from the solenoid. So I figured it just died. High quality my ass...its brand new, fu*kers.

Anyway, anyone have a similar problem? Or anyone know where can I get a new solenoid?

Thanks

Did you find the problem? Or find where to buy a new solenoid? I think my avc-r's solenoid may be broken as well ;(

Even if the solenoid is broken, you should see at least some boost (your wastegate minumum) Try to see if you wastegate is stuck open

Oh it has plenty of boost. thats the problem, my AVC-R is not regulating (stopping) excessive boost. The wastegate still works pretty much just like it did before (atleast opening wise(it opens around 7-8 PSI)) i removed the stock controller and hooked up the avc-r controller. I know the wastegate is working because it's dumped and I can hear it :)

Thanks for the help I appreciate it!

If interested, and so I dont hijack this guys thread here is the thread I started on my problem:

DREWCOOL: Could you do me a favor? Next time you drive your car go to your A or B boost setting, go to the place where you set the boost/duty cycle and hit the next button...tell me if the values or anything in there change or fluctuate. Mine don't move and for some reason I think they are suppose to. I need to check the solenoid and dont know how??

Hey,
No, the values in there do not fluctuate at all for me. For 20psi i have it set to 1.80, and 20% duty.
Figures, it just stopped working for me again yesturday. I can't hit more or less than 12-15psi. I think my pressure sensor is bad. I hate this stupid thing.
