Well this sucks. I need my car towed to my friend's house to get the ECU replaced, and second 02 sensor replaced and it's too damn low to be towed. What the hell do I do now? If I take off the front bumper will it clear a flatbed? I don't know where to rent a dolley around here and I wouldn't have a truck to pull it anyway. THis is such a disaster. Please help.

Well, I had that problem too so I took a set of big meaty rims/tires that I had layin around and pushed it up there no problem. You could also lessen the height difference with some 2x4s...like a ramp.

I took my bumber off on the side of the highway and drove my car up the flatbed with 2 2x4's in front of the bed like blackgsx said. And the tow truck guy charged me an extra 30 bucks becuease my car was lowered.WTF. If i didn't i would have destroyed my intercooler too when he pulled it up on the wire. The motor was already crapped another 15 sec. couldn't do that much damage.

Well, why don't you just have it done in front of your house? If you must have it towed, then removing the front bumper will clear to put on a flatbed.

Those sound like things you can do with some handtools and strenght (o2 sensor), I don't understand why you would waste money/time towing.

I agree, the ECU can be swapped out in less than 10 minutes, and the rear O2 sensor shouldn't take more than a half hour. Why waste time towing? Jack it up where it is and do it. :)

Well most of the work is done at my friends house as that is where we have all the tools. Yeah I already figured out what has to be done (removing the front bumper, front mount). Hopefully with those off, the car should go up with no problem. Thanks for the replies anyways.

i just had mine towed by a scoop and lift type towtruck - just had to use a floorjack behind the front wheels to raise the front a tad to get it on and off

Wouldn't it be easier just to bring your friend's tools to your house? I would imagine removing the bumper and FMIC, towing it, then putting that stuff back on would be more difficult than ECU and O2 sensor, especially since you're already going to have the car on jackstands to do the intercooler and bumper; you might as well just do the O2 while you're down there.

yeah definatly, the only tools you need for the ECU are a flathead screwdriver and a 10? millimeter socket

with the 50 bucks you would spend to tow it you could buy yourself a decent set of tools to do this project plus many more to come. cause if you dont know by now owning a dsm means downtime. LOL :D
