Ok, I have a 95 gst, not so modded (intake, apexi 3" exhaust, greddy type s bov, evo 1 16g and a 6 bolt.) Well the car was working fine until a couple of days back when i did not have a MBC or a boost gauge i drove the car pretty hard just up the block and down twice and the car started smoking. My mechanic at the shop told me that the boost actuator fell off and i probably over boosted, so my pistons went bad. I was driving it home today and my car was smoking so badly from the exhaust with blue smoke that i could hardly see any cars in my rear view mirror. When i got home I noticed that my whole engine bay was covered with oil, it was so bad that you could actually see oil runs on my fenders. I have read almost all the threads about cars smoking but non fit my description. I just cant figure out whats causing the oil to spray out and from where. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Do a compression test and a leakdown test.

I would also check the shaft play on the turbo.

Did the dipstick pop out?? It could be a number of things, but you obviously have a big leak somewhere. Clean it off and see if you can tell where its coming from.

Well that was the first thing I checked for, the dip stick didn't pop out but it was kind of tight in there, but it looks like the oil is coming from under the Valve cover. I have some side to side shaft play hardly any in and out, but a lot of black oil inside the intake housing.

Since you have oil in the intake manifold there is still some hope for the pistons. Oil is being ingested with the combustion air.

1. Oil in the turbo intake pipe and on the air filter means that it's coming from the oil sprayed around the engine bay.
2. Oil in the J pipe (but not in the intake pipe) means a seal has blown in the turbo.
3. Oil in the intake manifold (but not in the J pipe) means that the oil is coming from the PCV valve.

Hope for one of the first two.

same thing happened to me about two weeks ago. I had a boost pipe off while i was breaking in a new set of rings and i got on it to pass someone. then with no backpressure on the turbo it boosted way to high and blew up. smoked so bad, oil all over the place i would say your turbo needs a rebuild

Well the car stopped smoking by it self somehow and found out that the oil was coming from under the oil cap, I'm thinking that the tube that goes from the Valve cover to the intake got clogged. Also the pcv valve was unscrewed a little and when i tightened it the idle smoothed out. But now i have smoke puffing out from inside of my valve cover, and where the dipstick is. Do you guys that blow by might be causing this. Also my gas mileage turned horrible and loss of power.

well your (P)ositive (C)rankcase (V)entilation valve should be getting rid of excess air in the head, so if it's coming out of other places I would start by testing that...
