I know this isnt the right place to be making this thread but for some reason i cant make a thread in the 420a section. I have a 96 talon n/t with an after market turbo and i replaced the head gasket and now i have it all put back together and I cant remember all the vacuum hoses and where there supposed to go. The car will barely start now and wont rev up at all. I am 100% sure it is in time. i lined up all three marks. Can somone please help me.

You should have one larger hose on the back of the Mani running to the brake booster. Then depending on if you have the emission and cruise control there is a 3 way connector depending on what you have done to the car its hard to say.

If your running a MBC which im assuming you are theres a few different ways it could be routed. Snap a pic and post it up. Its easier to see than to try and explain. If you have EGR it should run off the nipple on top the TB. Like I said its hard to say.

Welcome. Why you can't post in the 420A column is that you need to start here in the "newbie" section since you began as a "new member/lurker".

As a tip: next time you pull hoses, label them where they belong.

good luck-DSM

i just replaced my head gasket and put my head back on but i dont think i have the vacuum lines hooked up right, the fpr one in particular because my car is being flooded with fuel to the point where it barely will run. so if someone could show me some pictures of which line it is and where it needs to go that would be great

There's only 4 vacuum lines on a 420a; The evap system hooks to the port on the throttle body, and everything else to the three-way splitter thing on the back of the intake manifold; these include your FPR, cruise control, and power brake booster. If you don't have any of these components, cap off those ports on the tee.

The brake booster has it's own port, the third thing that connects to the three-way vacuum port is the EGR system.

Wooops. Perhaps I'm getting to the age where Gingko Biloba may possibly be useful? :p

Well after a big process of elimination, checking all the vacuum lines and all that, i figured i would try unplugging my injectors to see if it was getting to much fuel and if that was the reason my plugs were fouling right away. So i sprayed some either in my intake and it started for a sec and backfired threw the intake immediately, so i thought maybe its out of time, so i bumped the engine a few times till i lined the cam gear timing marks up and they are off 2 teeth some how. Is the enough to make it act the way it is. i.e. wont hardly start and when it does start it wont rev up at all. Do i need to re-time it?

I'm not too worried about it. I am building a block right now, I know that motor isnt far from retirement because #1 piston has some slop in it enough to where you can hear it slapping the cylinder wall sometimes. I havent had this car long at all but i wanted to get away from hondas and try the DSM world. The kid i bought the car from flat out told me he didnt take care of it like he should have, But its got a great straight body and a t3-t4 turbo and all of that was bought new so with a lil money and some tlc it will be ready to go. I just want to get it running again with the motor thats in it now so i can have some fun with it until i finish the build on the other block.
