Car bogs then goes

I own a 91 GSX and recently put my car back to stock. (well almost) I had had 550 Injectors, 190 fuel pump, 16g, 3" full exhaust, AFC Neo, RS BOV, Tial WG, SBR manifold. All Is left on is my "3 exhaust 16g and bov. I put everything to 0 on the afc and disconnected it but all the wires are sill attached to my car. Did I have to totally remove them? When I dive the car is idles high then low until warm and then when I press the gas a little hard it just bogs down and then catches its self and starts to go. I looked at the plugs and they are black/rich. Any ideas? Check Engine is on from Coolant temp sensor but has been on since the car been sitting for years. I think thats why it idles weirds at cold starts.

Besides the afc did you put it all back to stock like fuel injectors, turbo, etc...?

It's definitely too rich.

I stated it above but all is back to stock but 3" exhaust, 16g(ebay), bov.

Check for boost leaks first and make the fuel pressure regulator it set at 37 psi.

You say boost leek..hmmm I'll try tomorrow and BTW I have a smoke tool at work that I put in the vacuum line(brake booster) and connect it to air and smoke goes through all the lines. This works correct?

as long as it tells you where the leak is coming from then yes.

When it idels high then low...is it constantly adjusting itself or does it go high at first then once warm go down and stay down? I was having the same problems with my car. Turned out that i had a leak at my throttle body cause my shaft seals were shot and one of my gaskets was ripped. I rebuilt the throttle body and got new gaskets and it fixed the leak i had. But then my idle "surged" afterwards. Turned out i had a bad ISC { Idle speed controller} I bought one off a buddy for 40 bucks and it fixed everything! Now it pulls whenever and doesnt bog at all.

my car also idles like that but i figured out what my problem is, i need a new throttle body, but there are numerous reasons for the idle problem, search the forums there are very informing forums about idle problems.

Yes you have to disconnect the wires for the afc, because the airflow wire is cut and ran to the afc then back to the ecu. With the wires connected and no afc plugged in your airflow signal will not reach the ecu, so you can either plug it back in and leave it zeroed out or completly remove it. That is why your plugs are black/rich because you have no airflow signal and the ecu is dumping fuel.

Do you know what wires to connect back? All I see is a jungle of wires.

There is going to be a wire that is CUT in half. Take off all the AFC wires, then you will see one wire cut...you will need to reconnect the two halfs of that wire.

You need to connect the air flow wire back to stock. Or you can just plug the afc back in to the harness and leave it zeroed out.
