Im trying to pull the code from my ecu, and i connect my multimeter to the terminals and i get nothing. my battery is fully charged, The car runs almost perfect with a slight miss, and just trying to figure it out. i have a cel and just want to diagnose it.

go to autozone or something, they pull codes for free. Or get yourself a dataloger.. then you can pull them yourself, and erase them. Along with alot of other things that comes with the dataloger....

Which terminals on he DLC are you trying and what settings on your meter?

You should have your meter set to a voltage range that covers 12v and using the red lead on pin 1 (top left) and the black on pin 12 (bottom right). Not all digital multimeters are going to react fast enough to make reading the codes easy, instead all you'll see is the voltage junping around. Since you don't seem to have a datalogger, I'd suggest either a cheap Radio Shack 12v piezo buzzer or a 12v LED (the ones with the series resistor internal), they make it real easy to read the codes.

yeah steve i tried both of my analog multimeters on the 12v setting and didnt get anything. yeah im sure im probing the right pins, 1 and 12, ive pulled codes out of my non turbo just fine. i dont know whats going on, it is weird.

If everything was working you should at least be seeing a heartbeat (On-Off-On-Off...).

If your seeing nothing double check the DLC.
Pin 1 runs to Pin 1 on the ECU.
Pin 12 should be ground.
Make sure that pin 10 isn't grounded. (that will put the ECU into datalogger mode)
