I did a 1g swap including 1g transmission everything was working except sometimes was difficult to get into gear. The car will no longer shift if you start it in gear it will try to move the car so the clutch is always engaged. I have replaced the slave cylinder and master I removed the tranny and inspected the pressure plate and clutch without removing as the pressure plate everything looked good throw out bearing and fork were replaced as well as the ball for the fork. I have blead the clutch like 20 times and its stiff but will not completely disengage. The only thing I can think of is there is a issue with the clutch which is a pretty new southbend kevlar 3+ ACT2600 OEM bearing. The 2g tranny has a extra cylinder on the tranny the 1g doesnt have what is that I didnt use it could that be my issue? Like I said it did work but was hard to shift a few times during the about 100 miles on it. previous 500 were put on the clutch that had a failed flywheel which could have cause the clutch to get some uneven surface on it. I just wanna know if anybody has experieced this or has any ideas!

adjust your master rod under the dash if you havent already and then check after to be sure your check valve in your master cylinder isnt blocked by pushing the fork back after adjustment. The slave on our cars are self adjusting so be sure to also check for fork movement on pedal push (requires a friend to watch or camera phone). Then see if the fork can be pushed back indicating a leak or bad slave or master. If the hydraulic system is good then you will know its internal and can investigate step height and mating issues.

Also if you can barely get it disengaged with a fully extended but not over-extended master rod on new parts then your pedal assembly in the car is possibly worn.

hope this helps

ya do a clutch adjustment and if no go then you got a bad clutch! i just had the same problem on one of my 2gs and i pulled the tranny and found broken springs on my clutch disk!

I replaced everything over adjusted the clutch pedal and still nothing so removed the transmission again closely inspected everything and the ACT 2600 band that goes around on the pp is broke and the last one that came on it when I bought the engine is broke in the same spot I just recently had a broken flywheel thats what i suspect is the cause will be sending pp in to see if they warranty it but other than that what a drag...

this is the reason i hate act, especally the 2600pp. If you over adjust the littlest bit your pp fingers hit the springs on your disk, i had the same problem. i really dont like useing act2600pp with sprung hubs, they work fine with unsprung but it takes more travel to disengage a 2600, thats why i had a 2nd gear lockout issue, but that was with a act street diskand sprung 4 puck, i dnt know if a southbend disk sprung hub is a lower profile, their is a guy name twicks that would know. but my problem didnt go away until i changed the pp, changed to a act flywheel and a number of diffrent act spung hub disk, nothing worked untill i changed the pp
