i bought the car a couple months back and did a rebuild due to previous owners lack of caring for the car but i noticed that when i get to a certain speed the car starts to shake violently back and forth almost like it wants to shift into the next gear but im in the final gear and not sure if it has something to do with the tac but that doesn't go over 4000 need serious help the engine is a 2.0 dohc non-turbo

We will need a little more info from you... welcome to the forums by the way...

Automatic or manual?
What have you checked or not checked yet?
What work have you done to it recently?
Did the car do this before you did said work?
Little more description on what the car is doing exactly?

This will help a lot... thanks.

Without knowing the previous condition of the car prior to your rebuild all I can do is make some educated guesses. :hmm: Since the shaking occurs as a function of speed, I would say the problem is either a mounting or driveline problem. Check that all your mounts were put back in and all bolts and nuts were tightened and not missing. Also check the condition of the mounts themselves to make sure the rubber portion isnt deteriorated or seperated allowing excessive movement. As to possible driveline related problem, I dont know if you pulled the tranny when you performed your rebuild or pulled your axles, but make sure the halfshafts are fully engaged in the tranny (that final click) and that the axle nuts are torqued if you pulled the halfshafts completely out. About all I can suggest without more information.
