they all do excpet the 4th place fwd (there's a line in their that either says yes or no for nitrous) but the kid never said he wouldn't be using one. and if they're pulling 1.6's and lower i don't think launching is that big of an issue for them. and hell so do all the fastest awd's i listed.

look at the 3rd rated fwd it has a 1.4 60' time same as glazer's awd ca that's in the 8's. i'd be willing to bet that if that 3rd place fwd had the same amount of money in it that it'd be alot faster than 10's.

And if you noticed also in those cars you were listing, some of them were RWD, meaning for better launch capability. But I guess you proved that a fwd can get low 10's, and high 9's... impressive, but I still believe in my personal opinion, if you want a car to go that fast, buy yourself an Rx-7, or an AWD car.

no you need to pay more attention to what i post before you respond.

the first post i made i listed the top 3 fastest dsm's from dsmtimes.org. in that post there was david buschur's rwd, sean glazer's awd, and gary marsh's fwd.

in the second post i made every single car was a fwd and all were 5 speeds withholding the second place car of kevin's. i did this to show that out of the fastest dsm's out there the fwd was right up there and i know for a fact that they did it with less drivetrain issues. the instant glazer went to slicks they snapped the viscous coupling driveshaft all the time and were actually slower until they found a way around it. how they did that i have no idea.

i'm not doubting that a rwd car will be ultimately faster in the 1/4, but that has nothign to do with this thread. i alos don't doubt that on the streets and up to a certain e.t. that the awd cars will have a distinct and decisive advantage. but i also don't doubt that once you hit that et threshhold that the awd cars will have more drivetrain issues and will be harder to maintain at that level of performance since there aren't many options out there currently for dsm's wanting to beef up their drivetrain.

I think I looked up and down you thread enough to understand it. A RWD was shown on there. As for your drivetrains breaking because it is FWD, yeah thats a fact. I have seen an AWD though roast FWD's day and night, not that I am dissing my FWD, but I know my engine/drivetrain capabilities, and people who do create those drivetrains that can contain 10 second times are surely doing a great job. But a TSI AWD, WRX, VR4, GSX, and the Galant VR4, are more capable of that time with less money in that modification. The drivetrains have there problems, but for drag uses, I would highly choose the AWD over the FWD, or RWD.
