Can i run under 14.8?

I am sure you guys are well annoyed with these kind of questions, but my friends and i have been bulshitting eachother on whos car is faster, so we decided to have a track night. we are all going to pitch in $5.00, and at teh end of the night, winner takes all.
So i am wondering how i will fair at the track. i am hoping for mid-high 14's. what do you think? here is my car:
1997 GsT (80k)
5-spd
Stock t25 turbo
Greddy Intake filter
Dejontool intake hardpipe
Greddy Upper and Lower intercooler piping
Greddy Type-S BOV (vented...because i dont have a recirc. tube)
Apexi N1 Downpipe (no Cat)
Greddy EVO Catback
TRUST MBC, 15psi
Energy Suspension Motor mount inserts (F&R)
rear STB
Tokico blue premium shocks
Tokico Lowering Springs (1.5")
18" rims
BFG Scorcher tires;225/40/18 (not much tread left)

...if i forgot anything, all my mods are in my profile anyway.
so what do you think i can run?Me and all my friends should be pretty close together. My friend with his 5.0 auto ran a 14.97 and a 2.3 60' his first time ever to the track last night. here isthe rest of my competition just FYI:

1988 5.0lx Mustang auto, intake/header/exhaust (ran 14.97 last night)
1995 5.0 GT mustang 5-spd intake/exhaust
1991 Eclipse GSX 5-spd intake/BOV/14psi
2001 RSX-TypeS stock
1994 Prelude VTEC(h22) intake/exhaust/17" rims
1992 civic hatch with ITR motor(b18c), intake/header/exhaust/camgears
1996 mustang-gt 4.6 auto, intake/exhaust
1991 CRX with ZC motor swap, intake/header/exhaust/camgears/FPR
1991 MR2 Turbo 5spd, no engine mods.
 
If you can hook up(doubtful) then you should be able to run in the 14's
The b18 civic and zc crx will probably beat you if the guys can drive at all. Also watch out for the GSX he will probably drop a mid 14 if he can drive.
 
i agree with 5150, you will have a hard time beating the gsx and the itr hatch.
 
Well, the ITR hatch has lower compression pistons because he is getting ready to boost it. and we will race before he boosts it. But the ITR hatch is what scares me more than any of the other cars. But do you think i can run a 14.8? And what do you reccomend for hooking up properly? What RPM should i launch at? and should i go WOT in 1st? what RPM to shift at? thanks for the help
 
Ok the itr hatch, and turbio mr2 will beat you flat out even if the mr2 was bone stock. you should be good for mid 14s or maybe a little better. the rest of the field shouldnt be a problem (all high 14- low 15 sec cars) if you can drive and launch they will be no problem. but if first place gets the money...then Im sorry you will be going home empty handed. edit keep the rpms at about 2800-3200 and ease the clutch out play with that and pick what doesnt bog or spin, shift at 6k rpms and now that I found out he had lower compression then it may be close for you two....my bet is still on the mr2 he is def ALOT faster looow 14s stock.
 
I hope you represent dsm's to the fullist:thumb: . I got a 94gsx and ran a 14.9 on free mods only, so I'm sure you will be able to run a mid 14sec 1/4 no problem. Then again you are fwd. Dont have experance with them. Good luck.
 
Well, i am not even sure if i can talk him(mr2) into going to the track! he hates straight line racing with a passion. like i said, he has no engine mods but a decent amount of suspension mods, and it handles like a ferrarri. but i think i will do ok. thanks for the help. and if anyone has more input...please give it. thanks
 
yeah what I mean is him stock = you with alot more mods...or him>you currently. No matter how you add it up he will win in a straight line. Everyone else but the itr dont worry.

sure thing. but i doubt i can even get him to go to the track. He is a hardcore JDM enthusiast, and he feels that if it isnt big in japan, then he doesnt recognize it exists. so naturally, he has been a drifter since like 1999, he was the guy that got me into it about 3 years ago. but are they really all that much faster than us? that sucks. either way, do you feel that a 14.7 trap time is within my reach, with a bit of practice?
 
I would get rid of the 18's for the track. Run you stock wheels
if you have them and run about 20 psi in the front and about
35-40 in the rear. Since you still have the t25 try not to shift
any later than 6000-6500rpm.

Put some 100 octane in if you can, and let us know what happens.
 
Well, i dont have the stock wheels anymore.OMG But over the summer i plan on getting some light 15's and putting slicks on them. With 93 octane, am i safe to run 15psi on the t25? so, my original question...do you think i can run under 14.8? thanks alot for all the help
 
dont go above 15psi, shift at 6k rpms no later. If you can launch and drive yes mid 14s should be about where you are. with good launch and awsome driving Id say 14.5@95-97 just my guess let us know what everyone gets. with mr2 out of the running Id say youll be pretty set.

well i am almost certain if your buddies with the MR2 turbo, and 91 gsx can drive you will get beat. i used to own a 95 TSI fwd and i had your exact mods with a 16g turbo with same tire tread and ran a best of 14.5 at 101 running 14psi
 
ok, here are the results. my best et was [email protected], my best 60' was 2.42, my best mph was 98.1. all of this, except the best mph, was done with full interior, subs, spare, seats, and college books. :cool:
 
I think you are misinformed about an mr2 turbo... they run 14.7 stock, and as everyone knows thats with a good launch. With suspension mods I'd say the fastest he could run is probably a 14.6. The 3s-gte is a good engine but stock with that ct-26... 14.6 at best.
 
...it all depends on the driver of the MR2...

My best friend had an intake and cat-back the first time he ran and got a 14.1....
it's pretty f-ing awesome for an almost stock MR-2..

but now he has a ct-20 (after selling his 50 trim) s/m intercooler, intake, almost stock boost for now, piping, and full 3' exhaust...

he should be running mid to low 13's until he upgrades his fuel again

I heart MR-2s ....so sexy :thumb:

I think with those mods 14's would be possible. My dad ran 15.7 in the 1/4 first time out in my GST with a hacked air can and no cat. Horrible 60' time too.

ok, i beat all of the ones that i got to race. i beat all the mustangs, from a dig, and i molested them from a roll. i beat the gsx from a roll, and in the 1/4. i havent raced the mr2, because he sold it. i havent raced the b18 civic, because he blew up the engine and now has a a b20b with b18 head. i havent raced the CRX or the prelude. but i will keep yall updated.
 
I hit a 14.075 with the mods in my profile... but I am awd so i don't know if it compairs :confused:
 
no it really doesnt compare at all. you can run under 2.0 60' times from the factory. that is .4 faster than my car, and tranfers into .8 seconds faster in the quarter. if my car was awd, i would be easily hitting high 13's all day long. :D
 
in my 95 tsi fwd i ran a 14.51@96 and some change mph.....that was with only 2.5" turbo-back,hard pipe uicp w/hks ssqv.....17" rims full interior and 3 12" subs.....launched at 3000 on the dot and didnt shift till 7k.....idk if i ran that good of a time is because i have been racin dsms for the past 6 years or i was just lucky.....if i was just lucky the 5 times i ran it in a row is dam good luck LOL
