can / do the radiator fans spin independantly?

Im new to dsm;s and having alot of issues, Love the car but feel i am too poor to own one haha. Anyway, I have a 95 GSX and today i noticed the passenger side radiator fan was spinning but no the drivers side, i also noticed when i got home and popped hte hood that the hood prop was hot as hell, the drivers side of the radistor seemed damn hot. Is the second fan only suppose to kick in at high temps, or is this another problem to add to my list?

I think that drivers side fan only works when the a/c is on.

mine does this as well, i havent been too worried about it, seems to be normal

2nd poster was right, it only operates when your air conditioner is on..its Normal.

Yea, the driverside fan is only for the AC. Just rip out the whole ac system and take the fan out too... But dont worry..as long as the two harnesses are hooked up you should be fan. If you are still that worried just watch the temp gauge...
