Can cracked 14b hot side housing be salvaged?

I recently brought a 14b, but turns out the hot-side housing near waste-gate flapper is cracked enough that you can see light through the cracks.

I want to get the car to drivable condition as soon as possible, and I'm not sure what to do.

Can I use the cracked housing, weld it? I can also get a hot-side from Chinese 16G, but I was told that it creeps like crazy as the waste-gate hole is very small and the opening for the wheel is huge.

What are the negative consequences if I put on a cracked 14b? I still have a T25 on car, but I have a buyer for it, and he doesn't want to wait.

Can hot-side housing be ordered online? Are they expensive?

I might have an access to 16G housings as well, internals are wrecked, but housings are ok.

Nope, it's trash. I wouldn't trust welding pre-turbine cast to just any welder, and the cost of getting it properly welded would likely outweigh the price of a crack-free replacement housing.

The negative effect would be extreme lag from a non-sealing wastegate system.

Would you recommend mixing and matching the turbine with 16G Chinese housing?

The Chinese housings are hit and miss in my experiences. Over the course of 3 setups, only one lasted more than 10-12000 miles. The other two first stripped several bolt threads. After I repaired these with helicoils, each one warped and would not hold a good seal to the manifold. They are clearly made from inferior metal. It's a noticeable difference when using a grinder to port them vs a oem. The bit cuts threw them so easy LOL. If I could get a used or new oem one for a good price I would. Otherwise it's a gamble.

I've been going with the Kinugawa brand parts myself. They are made in Taiwan, not China. They aren't the cheapest off-brand but they are of good quality and consistent from my experience anyway. Also, they come with a 34mm wastegate flapper that is ported out bigger than the China housings I've seen.
