CamAngleSensor wont go into head

i just put a new head on my car which is a 1G 6 bolt turbo and i had to swap my old CAS from my old head to this new head. when i try to install it, it just wont go in at all. it seems like the left side wants to go in but the right side doesnt. any suggestions or ideas???

there should be a punch mark on the cam angle sensor housing and one on the plate. Make sure they are lined up.

i finially got it in. i had to take the valve cover off and take the cap off, install the CAS and then put the cap back on. dont know why it wouldnt fit in with the cap on
