if you have upgraded cam gears can you have them without the cover on and still drive with it off or will anything happen?

I never had one on there until I just recently bought one. It's only there to help from getting debris in your timing belt and ####ing everything up. Having aftermarket cam gears isn't gonna change anything.

Yes you can drive without the cover regardless of what kind of cam gears you have. I would not suggest this though, as one small rock into the timing belt would not be good at all.

No problem. Its bad when you have a set of HKS 272's sitting in your room for 4 months becuase you spent the money on that and the money saved for gears gets spent on new alt, battery, water pump, timing belt, tensioners, pulleys and belts. I guess thats what happens when you buy a 97 with 1 owner at 51k..You get to replace all the parts :thumb:

thanks for putting that link on there for the clear cover ive been looking for one and only found them for evo's :thumb: and these will work for HKS cams and gears if im understanding correctly

Yes, also look in the vendor area plenty of pics and a good quality piece from Zaklee.

here is the set up on a toyota, found this online. Cant wait til mine looks this nice.

WOW! I'm 2wanting a clear cover BAD now, those things look pimp. But where do i find a timing belt that color coordinates with my engine bay? I've seen the blue ones, even that would be fine for my setup. If i get the clear cover it looks like i'll have to get colorfull gears as well :D
