Cam Gear Cover, 1g 2g, Same?

I cant find a nice 1g cover, so I wanted to know if is it safe to run a 2g 7bolt cam gear cover on a 6bolt motor?
It seems to fit, but I'm paranoid like that around timing belts.
Anyone with a 6bolt in their 2g have experience? Are they the same?

This probably doesn't help, but I've interchanged cam gear covers in between 92 7 bolt and a 99.

They are the same. When you buy one it is for years 90-99.

Extreme PSI sells oem 1g 6bolt cam gear covers seprate from 1g 7bolt and 2g 7bolts.
Yet the clear one is 90-99. Timing belts are 90-99. Cam gears are 90-99, Crank pulley 90-99. Valve covers 90-99 WTF????
The only thing I can think of is maybe the tins that go behind the cam gears might locate the cover bolts differently. But to me, The 2g cover looks to be a good fit on my 6bolt. They cant be too different.
