Ok guys so i need some help.. I made the mistake of lowering my dsm around august of last year and not adjusting the camber/toe..

My front tires are wearing completely normal but the back one's aren't... The outside of the back tires look completely new while the inside(Like two inches or so from inside edge of the tire closest to rear diff.) are COMPLETELY bald..

Ive talked to one of the wiseman and hes gave me some really good advise but told me too talk to some of you other 1g guys who have lowered there car and had to readjust there camber/toe.. Im wondering what kind of things you had to do, what needed to be adjusted and what way +/-, and what kind of issues you had during the process..

Any help or advise is much appreciated ive never adjusted this stuff before and i don't have the money to have a shop do it not to mention i HATE letting people touch my car.. I also like to learn and do stuff myself LOL..

Oh and the cars lowered 1 1/2 inches and sits on AGX's with tuned by matrix springs that are pretty stiff..

That thread would be a good thing but i don't got a lath..Ive read somewhere you can build a extension for the arms that are already on there.. But i cant remember where i seen it and ive looked on hear and on dsmtalk and cant seem to find it anywhere.. Do you by chance know how to do that?
Or do you know if the stock stuff can be adjusted enough to get it within spec??

the thread about the expander bars is on the vfaq site under suspension.

and to make these you can buy the pre threaded rod so you dont need the lathe. im trying to find the write up that showed all the parts.

Did you really do suepension work without getting the allignment and such done..Tisk Tisk..

Take it to an alignment shop, or your local preformance shop..They should be able to help you out, and get the allignment back within spec..

I don't got the cash to pay someone else to do it.. Not to mention i have NEVER taken this car to a shop for anything. I dont trust them haha to many people around hear have horror stories of shops breaking stuff on the car and then denying it..
And our local les schwab's/big o' tires have a nack for hot rodding peoples car's ive heard it from many people locally.. And id snap if that happened haha id be going to jail..

I did post on one of our local forum's though asking for help or for a GOOD shop that could do it.. Most of the people around hear are good guys and are willing to help out just for the fun of it so hopefully i can find someone to help me with it..

On a side note i crawled under the car and it looks like the stock adjustments still have a good distance of adjustment so my question is how hard is the adjusting?? I doubt it will be perfect even at full adjustment but it should help with the tire wear untill i can pick up/make adjustable's right??

these are for a 3000gt but the write up for them is on here somewhere. they are all pre made parts you just screw together

here is an example
3SX Adjustable Control Arms - AWD Twin Turbo Camber#-#Mitsubishi 3000GT#/#Dodge Stealth Parts

found the thread you should be able to make the above style of control arm replacement for about 80 bucks
Threaded Rod - Speedway Motors, America's Oldest Speed Shop

Thanks a lot man il check it out and see if i cant make it by next week.. Do you know if i have to order all the stuff or should local parts stores carry most of that stuff??

its all going to need to be ordered most likely.

its a 14 inch swaged rod that you will need and when you pick that it should pull up the ends you will need.

I would wait for someone local to tell you of a good shop to do the allignment..I would not attempt it yourself cause you could mess something up worse....

Lol really?? What could i mess up in your opinion?? I know if its off the car could pull and it would cause excessive tire wear.. But seeming im already seeing the tire wear and the car drifts a bit to the right IDK how much worse i could make it.. So let me know what you think haha.
Im trying to gather as much info. as possible before i even jack it up and try it..
My uncle who knows cars really well and knows me with cars says i could do it. Just that its going to be a long process and that il need to be really patient.. My biggest thing is our local forum can take sometime to get reply's and my tires at the rate there wearing will only last another month maby two if im lucky..Thats if i don't find a way to fix them..
I can still see the tread pattern on the inside i just don't want to wait until its bald and then shortly after to have wires popping out ya know..

What do you think man?? DO you think i could adjust it a bit myself or do you think bud92gsx is right and that i should jsut leave it until i can get it done professionally??

when i put mine in my 3000gt i was able to get them almost adjusted by using a level.

even when a shop puts it on an alignment rack thats all they are doing just all 4 at one time.

if its wearing the tires that uneavenly if you can do anything it will be an improvement but a final alignment by a shop is a good idea.

Ok thanks man.. Tire wear is REALLY uneven like the entire tire looks brand new besides the inner 1 1/2-2 inches which are balding.. Ya i figured id have it done perfectly by a shop but i don't want to do that until after i can get new tires(hopefully it will be all 4 seeming its AWD) and until i can get adjustable's for the rear so this doesn't happen again.. And untill i can find a reputable shop to do it that won't damage my car in any way
Il be doing it hear in a bit im going to wait to see if my uncle can come over seeming hes got experienced in this matter..
But do you have any advice for me incase he doesn't??

They are easy to make and install, the hardest part is getting the bolts out since they will prob be rusted in place pretty good. pb blaster them every day for like 3 or 4 days before trying to remove them.

other than that just adjust them by hand and stand back and look at the car. you can almost tell by eye when they are correctly adjusted.

you have anymore questions about it shoot me a pm. ill help out however i can.

the issue here really isn't throwing parts at the car, it's getting it aligned. If you don't have the cash to pay someone to do, do it yourself. Hope you paid attention in geometry class :)

Google DIY alignment, or start with this. I've been aligning my cars for years now for street, autocross and track use, promise I get it closer than Sears will in the 15 minutes they take to do it.
