OK, I got the head back from the shop today for the second time sense they lost a cam cap last time...long story, anyways i installed the cams in the head and i went to line up the cam gears before i install the head on the black and this is as close as I can get. Is this okay.

Also my comp cams didn't say straight out whether it was for exhaust or intake but the part number for one ended with an E and the other with an I is this a good assumption?

Okay This is the closest i can get with the belt able to go on and i dint have to clip it it stays there pretty well.

Mark the center of the cam sprocket bolts with a sharpie. Put just a dot in the middle of each one. Then, take a ruler and lay it across the bolts and align it with the two dots. The marks on the sprockets should align with the ruler.

Okay i think I got it down to a T now LOL, But does it matter witch marks line up, because now its backwards as it was before but strait, if this is a problem i can turn it make around.

If i'm not mistaken you are 180 out on both cams. Look at the FAQ and you'll see that the timing mark with the groove cutting through the middle of the sproket tooth should be the intake side, and the groove for the exhaust should be cutting the half moon portion (where the teeth of the belt itself seat) of the cam gear. If you can get it that way, you should be able to get it the right way! If not, your going to bend some valves... aske me how I know!!! :ohdamn: :D

Intake cam will have a little retangular shaped mark above the slots where the tang of the CAS goes. This mark is to be above the slots to be in correct timed position.

On comp cams both the intake and exhaust both have slots. I don't know why.

Crap! you got two INT cams there ...!!

Yeppers - you're 180* out for sure on both sprockets.

Look at your first pict-see the cam's alignment pin (right above the bolt) on the EXH sprocket at the 12:00 position? The INT has to be at the same 12:00 position ...

They are two diff part numbers so i don't think they are the same but they may be. Is this an issue, also i have both of those marks at the 6 o'clock position.

is it a problem that they both have a cas cutout, they don't have the same part number, one ends with an E and the other with an I, I just took that for exhaust and intake...
