Okay I just bought a complete spare block with all internals and a complete spare head with intake fuel rail and injectors. I also bought a 5 speed transmission. My plan is to build this engine for boost. The only problem is this black has a spun bearing, so I want to know where to begin with this. What do I need to replace, what needs machined? I only payed 150 on all this so I have some to spend on machining and what not but I just want to know where to begin with this.

I forgot to say that my 420a in my DD now has just started knocking. If i park that for the winter would I be better off just using my engine now and doing a 5 speed swap?

First is a tear down and full inspection.

Now what spun a bearing? was it a main or a rod?

The crank will need to be checked to see if can be used. If it is not too bad it may be able to be ground undersized.

If a rod spun, then that rod may need resized, but all rods will need to be checked for round on the big end. But if you opt for forged pistons and H-beam rods, then pitch the stockers in the scrap.

If it was a main bearing, then the block will need to be aligned honed, or if ARP main studs are used, The main bearing housing bores will need to be chacked and line honed as needed.

It's probably a rod bearing. You'll need to have the crank machined undersize and run larger bearings. The machine shop should be able to tell you what bearing size to run.

Also make sure you clean everything, especially the block oil passages very thoroughly, as you don't want leftover bearing material ruining your fresh engine.

My last point you probably don't want to hear, but I have to throw it in. Instead of saving and spending all this money on this new engine, and buying all the accessories to boost it, I'd save up for TSi or GSX/T.

i would probably pay the same amount for a GSX as I would to build this and I just wouldnt feel right giving up on this car and getting another one so I would rather build this one. I know getting a GSX makes more sense but still. Plus I have some pretty good connections to get the block machined for a pretty low price.
