I am new to most of this but i have been reading on this topic for about 3 days and haven't found anything "exactly" like what I'm about to describe. As I was driving to the body shop today i was going around a few cars and in 4th gear at about 3700-4000 rpms my car started to buck very badly, then after letting off the accelerator I get this clunk from somewhere up front. its been a little while since I've been able to check tranny fluid and I'm pretty sure my poly. motor mounts are ok. I was in a rush to get to work after dropping off my car so i did not have time to stay and check on things. I need some things to check for when i get my car back in a few days. Also, i know the clutch needs to be done soon, it slips through nearly every gear. :toobad:
P.S. (Some things to note) this was under 3/4 throttle and then completely letting off. 16 psi is being run and this was early in the morning temp probably about 60 or so degrees. Also this has never happened before and i only get fuel cut at about 6500 in third and beyond but thats when i shift. I do not know if this is a reoccurring problem b/c it's still in the shop....by the way the door came out of alignment and crushed my passenger fender, ever hear of that? WTF I know that is a lot but anything positive helps.

What do i need to be looking for here. I think the plugs also need to be done, which I was going to do before I took it to the shop but they only had 2 of the plugs that I needed.

So I did my plugs today after work and and sure enough problem is fixed. Nothing serious, this time. :thumb:

Well it did it again today, a big freakin neck jerk, but it's smoother gradually accelerating, which wasnt the case before. So my next step is to do tranny fluid since im off today i guess we'll see how that goes. and mine also did this when its cold out...sounds like the same thing.

definatly sounds ignition related. I had it happen to my talon and i replaced the ignition transistor its right below the coil pack and looks like a big plug it is the cause of alot of coil failures.

Yes. Violent jerks are related to ignition problems in most cases. Ignitors, or coils. Changing your tranny fluid won't help it, guaranteed.

I would definitely consider looking at, or replacing the ignition components. It will get worse with time.

Alright, ignition components are what ill ask for on my b-day, 11/21 baby, COP ignition system specifically. One question though, as of tonight and the other day when I originally brought this up, this is only doing this when it is really humid out (foggy) what would be causing that. It stopped doing the majority of it when I replaced the plugs which needed to be done but now im noticing when it's really humid out it does it constantly. I live in Louisiana and I moved from Colorado so would the atmosphere have anything to do with needing to get it re-tuned or should i take a step towards the COP and see what happens from there.
