Brembo caliper conversion 1g (3000gt trailing arms)

Ive been looking in to what I need to get to finish My Evo 8/9 caliper conversion on my 1g. From what i have gathered, it is possible to use the rear trailing arms from a 3000gt so you can still have a functioning handbrake without leaving the stock caliper and having to build a mounting bracket which in my opinion looks weird. Has anyone had success using the 3000gt trailing arms with the rear evo 8/9 brake set up on a 1g? or maybe there is an easier solution?

I did notice in kmv's thread about the conversion subject that someone was in the middle trying this out but had not finished yet. I am hoping to find somebody with a similar project.

Just a little update. I havnt been able to find the 3kgt trailing arms for reasonable price so Im looking into other options. Im thinking about using a line lock kit on the rears for e-brake purposes, hopefully this is a viable solution. I think the Brembos look sick on a 1g with the evo9 wheels but at the same time I need an e-brake. I wouldnt want the car ive spent the last 4 - 5 years building rolling out into traffic or something.
