my 91 awd is breaking up at 4k..went out to play in snow and now is running like crap...pulled plug wires off and found water in cyl#4 i guess from the snow or something..changed plugs and wires and the transistor pack out and still same symptoms!!! any advice? and it was not coolant that was in cylinder:confused: thanks for any input

What plugs did you reinstall and what gap? Have you checked to see if you have a boost leak? What psi on what turbo are you running?

I'm trying to understand how the snow would have gotten into that one cylinder? How's your oil look; milky at all? Have you tried getting that water out of the cylinder before cranking it anymore? If not, try cranking it without the plug (it'll shoot water out of the hole) and then wet-vac it as much as possible. If you crank it while there's water in it, you have a very good chance of messing up your rods or valves. Water doesn't compress very well. at all. any. don't do it.

I think he means water in the spark plug hole. Not in the cylinder itself. Unless he sucked water into the intake. Which would be VERY hard to do.

no water in cyliner and no chocolate milk!!!coolant is good and oil is good! when i pulled plug wire i left plug in and sucked water out with vac! its was only like a shot glass worth of water but still wierd..i had bpr7es when it was breaking up and gap was @ .25 running a bullseye 50 trim on 17lbs..didnt check for a boost leak yet but prob need to

When I ran open turbo on my car I would get similar symptoms whenever it rained. I couldn't get above 30% throttle without it hitting what felt like fuel cut. After a day it would be fine again. More than likely something just got wet from the snow. Check all the fuse boxes and the MAF. I cant see any other way water could get into the engine other than through the MAF so start there.
