i was wondering should i go with the brembo system from the evo3 or the willwood system? i want to take my car to the drag strip but also use a cruiser from time to time... i would like to know which system would be better suited for my style. my 98 eclipse gst is running 455 at the wheels..

You consider the GSX or 3000gt brake upgrade yet? The GSX with the dual piston calipers make a significant difference.

Really strong brakes with no abs are even harder to drive. I did a heavy brake upgrade on a 2500 lb track car I had and it ruined it. It was an 81 rx7 with a newer turbo motor. I had the factory bigger brakes put in then went with a "competitionn" setup and they locked up if I even looked at them. Not good for smooth consistent laps.

But with a parachute... you just pull the release and sit back and chill.

I am only pushing like 300hp, but I did the AWD brake upgrade with Hawk pads and Brembo rotors. Man, I can easily lock them up if I want. I dont have ABS either. Dont get me wrong, Brembos would be awesome. I just wanted to mention it as I see you are a new member and might not be aware of the easy upgrade.

If your just looking for the drag strip, I also recommend the parachute as I have seen many high HP cars wreck at high speeds and some with brake malfunctions. So, I might recommend a chute for safety.

i will get a chute but i do alot of highway driving and would like a pair of brakes that would stop me if i needed to be stopped without spending over 1200$

so im asking whats the best bang for the buck but i dont want something that will cause more damage then good

The factory brakes will stop if you need to be stopped. You just hit the middle pedal as quickly as you can. Thequicker your reaction time, the faster you will stop.

You can also use the parachute on the highway. Just make sure no cars are close behind. If you have AAA, they offer a service to help you pack up the parachute after deployment. Which is nice if it is raining or something. As it often if when you have an oh shit moment and have to hit the parachute.

LOL LOL im sure i will be on youtube head lining dumb ass who opens chute on I75

i have 18" rims can i run the evo8 brembos without running spacers and all that good shit?
