Well heres the problem... I own a 5spd 1998 Eclipse GS-T with a full apexi exhaust 3in, 5in tip, 3in down pipe as well, hks ssqv bov, stage 2racing clutch (ACT i think), SBR boost controller, 3 gauges on a-pillar(boost, air/fuel, oil pressure) running 14psi on the stock 14b turbo, everything else is stock. I had to rebuild the heads in the car (timing beltbroke on the guy who i bought it from), and he also had an apexi safc that he had mounted in front of the middle air vents but he said it fried on him so he just unplugged it and took it out of the car (im guessing the AC or Heat fried the safc) but anyways itll start up and run fine, but as of recently at stoplights and stuff itll idle wierd and sometimes die when i let off the clutch after ive gotten on it, it seems to only idle weird when the engine is warmed up and when I've got on it and shifted at higher rpms.It runs really rich (enough to blow a flame sometimes when shifted quickly),and it will idle at different rpm at stoplights and such, and sometimes die. Itll drop down then pop back up to a stable idle and stay there. My only real guess is that the HKS blow off valve being vented to the atmosphere is messing with how the car runs or i need a new SAFC but i dont know exactly how the old one was fried. I read a lot of threads here on dsmtuners but found many possible things it could be and no real answer to if it could be the safc being gone or the bov vented to the atmosphere. I figured i'd ask here and see if anybody knows if thats what it could be or if its definently something else since you guys here seem to preach BOV venting to atmosphere messes with the car, and all i want for my dsm is maximum performance. I've changed all my belts, all my fluids, run synthetic oil,and all my hoses are new. When i vent back into the intake i was thinking about using an Injen Intake with the HKS bov rerouter kit. Unless theres a better solution? Right now my car has a K&N Filter on the stock rubber intake housing with what looks like the SBR Adapter. Thanks for any Help.
