Boosting Safely?

I just got a 1990 Talon TSI AWD and the boost has been on wastegate which was 7 psi. It has the following mods Buschur Big16g ported/clipped thats what he said It has a td05 turbine housing? can that be a 16g? Also Burschur 2.5" Full Exhaust, Walboro 190, ACT 2100, 4 bolt rear. It currently had the boost set to 7 becaause it was running wastegate I today turned it up to about 15-16 is that way too much? It's running stock sidemount, injectors and stock intercooler piping. The car seems to be running fine no fuel cut prolly just heatsoaking? Should I turn the boost down? Im prolly gonna take it to the track tonight and put some C16 in it to see what she can do what should the boost be at to be safe?

I wouldn't run more than 15 to be safe.

All 16g's come in the TDO5 housing.

I have a 16g ported, about same set up as yours but i upgraded my injectors to 550s. I boost 18 with no problem what so ever. But i also have an apexi safc so that would probabely make a difference.

Wastegate should be about 9-10 lbs

I wouldn't run more then that.

Unless you have a datalogger, plug it in, turn up the boost and log a run, looking for KNOCK and timing retard.

If you don't wanna blow it up, don't turn it up.

There is a reason it was set to the minimum when you bought it, even if the seller has not told you. One is: stock injectors, no SAFC currently, and the fact that a B16G flows more air at any given boost setting then a 14B.

The car is not exactly track ready at this time, IMHO. But it's close
