Hey guys I just had a ? on the internals for the 420A. I finally have enough money to turbo it, but i was thinkin on my engine what should i rebuild on it also. I know that a lot of people get the bottom end kits, which i am to. But i heard that if I want to be around 280 and maybe a little past 300 I should also do vavles springs lifters the top end to. Is this true. Maybe I wont get those #'s but id like to safely boost 9-10psi daily....and maybe somewhere around 15-17 when suckers wanna play on our fri and sat nights out here. So could I just be safe for the bottom end? Please help...Thanx

i wouldn't worrie to much about the top end(unless u have money to blow)..if you want to run more boost just rebuild the bottom end and make it stronger.last time i cheacked HRC's eclipse uses a stock head..

Your internals won't hold for anything pass 10psi. Most guys on here push the internals to 8-10psi max on the stockers. Changing your fuel system would be smart thing to do after 7psi or bang :barf: there goes your engine. Do not worry about top end yet unless you have the dough then go for it. Also you should check www.2gnt.com, over there is has more info to turbo the 420a.

HRC had upgraded valve springs to prevent valve float.

Hey buddy, you got more things to think about then just the bottom end if you want to run 15-17 psi on occasion. you gotta have the fuel system, some way to control it, a clutch that can handle that power, an LSD if you want good traction but thats optional. when you wanna run more boost there is a ass load of things that need upgrading.

yea I know that...im gettin hole fuel set up with the apexi SAFC and a new clutch but jsut wanted to know about the internals right now...I thought thats really about what i had to worry about is the bottom end...Now anybody have any opinions on what to get as far as clutch and what sight arnt our clutchs modular and arnt those more $$$??? and what about the turbo setup what i REALLY need manifold, garret turbo, down pipe charge pipe boost guege FMU missing link walbro 255l fuel pump all gaskets the oil feed lines and return lines greddy type rs bov and a intercooler that sound good?

most of the 420a turbo guys use clutchmaster or spec(spec are a lil cheaper)...be warrned if you are gonna get a spec clutch do not get the stage 3..there have been known problems with it..i ran it for a while until one of the springs came lose cause me not to be able to get in gear so i replaced it with a stage 4 and so far so good.
