BOOST SPIKE W/ GREDDY TYPE-S BOV 2ND NIPPLE

I have a stock BCS set up along with the greddy type-s bov 2nd nipple attached, this way I'm getting boost spikes like crazy all the way to 20psi as if I had a leak somewhere, which I know for a fact I don't! I left the 2nd nipple disconnected and everything went back to normal, Boost holds great at 11psi with my stock BCS.....

Why the boost spike with this second nipple? Any theories or facts? Pix below of my old second nipple set up!

You have your 2nd nipple spliced wrong.

With the way that it is hooked up in that picture, your BOV is using the pressure needed to properly operate the BCS; therefore, your BCS is not functioning properly and causing a spike.

The second nipple should be hooked to it's own pressure source or spliced into an area that sees only pressure and no vacuum.

My logical reasoning leads me to believe that the optimum place for a pressure source for the BOV would be to install and use a nipple on the upper intercooler pipe after the BOV.

The picture that you see was wrong, now I know, I've learned the boost spike was because when the lower nipple gets connected between the turbo outlet pipe and the wastegate actuator, this would interrupt the signal going to the wastegate actuator messing up the REAL/ACTUAL boost, causing it to spike erraticly! In my case I still had the stock BCS setup.

Now there are 2 scenarios, one is if you have the stock BCS setup and the second scenario is if you have a MBC!

Ive never had a problem with my Greddy Type-S. You leave the 2nd nipple disconnected. It vents to atmosphere or something, and there has been a big debate on this site about what its used for.

Same hear my 2nd nipple on the BOV is disconnected to and I have never had any problems. I dont get why people want to hook up the second one when it runs perfectly with it disconnected.

I guess it comes down to personal preference, is not the "why", but the "how" that people are interested in! Apparently there hasn't been a definitive conclusion on how to hook up the lower/second nipple, that's why people are still asking! BTW, the
"why" is because the lower/second nipple is supposed to activate the BOV faster......
