Hi guys, i just put in a ported 14b to match the 7cm on the gt highflow manifold, i have a hacked maf, with KnN filter, a 2.5-3 inch exhaust, 2g o2, and a mbc. SAFC with a new
FMIC i just installed. well I have a problem. I just put in the 14b, and the fmic kit. It doesnt seem to have boost leaks, i boost fine to 12 psi, but at 5k it just feels like its being restricted. I do know its faster than before, but all couplers are tightened down. bov has rtv silicone and gasket on it. recirculated. Is the fmic too big? its a stock evo and 2.5 inch pipes. the tune on my safc also is tuned for the last intercooler and turbo i had. could that be the reason why as well? What do I do?

Actually do a boost leak test. "Seemed" isn't good enough. I thought all my couplers were tight and i still had a leak or two.

My car did the same exact thing and it was actually boost creeping, but I didnt have any fuel upgrades so everytime it tried to go past 15 my fuel system wud cut off and it feels like hitting a brick wall almost, so eventually I had to go externally gated in order to fix the problem, but I dunno if you have ab oost guage if you do check if your boost tries to jump up from whatever it is set at, if it does then ## creeping. Hope this helps.

Your profile says you are on the stock injectors, shouldnt the safc just be zeroed out?

Stock these cars are usually really rich.

Exactly. If you are running stock boost you can afford to lean it out a bit, as long as you are using the same octane gas that you tune with. Wouldn't want to tune with 93 and fill up on 87 expecting the same results.

He says he is boosting fine until 12 psi which means to me he has his boost set higher. Zero-ing out the SAFC will make it act like no tuning is being made.

actually i do remember when i last tuned the car, with the previous fmic and turbo, i did have boost leaks there too. and i had a hesitation problem due to my ecu went out. so Maybe I should tune again, before I come to a conclusion right? can boost lag on the 14b be caused because the fmic is to large for it?
