Cambridge,
i finally got an air compressor and just finished doing a boost leak test and i could hear all the air leaking out somewhere around the turbo and exhaust manifold but i couldn't pin point it and ran out of air. Is this a bad place to be leaking air?

you need to do the test again and figure out exactly where it's coming from... could be just a gasket.

you can use some soapy water... just get some on your finger and wet around the place you think the leak might be coming from then just look for bubbles :thumb:

Could be the EGR thermo valve off the thermostat housing.
If you're sure it's coming out of exhaust, it's either the EGR or valve overlap.

I know there is more than one leak i have to deal with!! It's not coming from the exhaust just underneath the exhaust manifold, maybe turbo seal? i did another test on the uip to throttle body and pressurized but didn't hold and could hear air leaking from under the valve cover and also i took off the oil cap and felt air coming out!! Then i unhooked the pcv valve and capped it off and did another test. It would still leak when i pressurized but leaked much slower and from the throttle body to the elbow. i got a lotta leaks :notgood:
