I have had this problem since January, and have been reading other similar threads on this, but nothing seems to help my problem.

What happens is: When I go WOT, and it gets to around 3200rpms, a spot where the turbo would normally spool, it starts to bog, and accelerates really slow. It started to do this one night just randomly, I didn't change anything about the car, nor did I hit anything that would cause a boost leak.

Now, here is what I know about the problem:

1. It does it 100% of the time at 16+ PSI
2. It only does it about 30% of the time at less than 14psi.
3. At 14 psi, it sometimes breaks up and stubles, but catches again.
4. The boost gauge reads the way it is supposed to at the appropriate time. (like if I set the boost to 25psi, it reads 25psi.)
5. It really only does it at over 3/4 throttle.
6. The car was dyno tuned with the current setup.

Could be many things but most likely boost leak.

I didn't change anything about the car, nor did I hit anything that would cause a boost leak.
Boost could be caused by a lot of things, any work done to the intake track, worn out coupler and gaskets, higher boost level (boosting 25psi)...etc. The problem you describe very much sounds like boost leak related. Even if you don't find anything, at least you can completely rule it out which will make troubleshooting much easier. Check you plugs and wires as well. Good luck.

I agree with oldman, check your plugs and wires. It could be ignition related. When was the last time the timing was checked? :dsm:

Patterson and oldman are absolutely correct in terms of where to start. If you don't find any issues with boost leaks and the plugs and wires are OK, move on to checking your plug gap and making sure it's at .028 or maybe even a bit less since you run fairly high boost. Plug gaps have a tendency to widen over time and that may have happened to yours, which will make you blow out the spark. Oh, and don't forget to replace your fuel filter if you haven't done so recently.

Good luck and let us know what happens.

Ok, thanks for all of your help. I wouldn't have checked the plugs and wires for awhile. But, it turned out that one of my wires was arcing against the head.

Thanks. You solved my gremlin from hell. Its always the easy stuff that gets you.
