Well When I first baught my car 1992 Plymouth Laser RS AWD, I installed a boost gauge...only reading 8-9 psi varied. Anyways the stock boost is 11 on these cars....So I tried to install an MBC yesterday and the highest I could get the boost to was 10 psi....I was thinking maybe the MBC was defective but I did a boost leak test.....it wouldn't hold pressure at all my boost gauge stayed on 0 psi the whole time. So I sprayed soapy water on my ICP and then on my UICP i heard a small hiss for like 5 seconds....Was that the boost Leak? wouldn't it be very loud if it wouldn't hold pressure at all?

Any1 have any ideas? also on my UICP i see small lil cracks around the hose clamps I guess due to the age of the car.

1. What are you using to pressurize? If this is the first time you ever pressure test, I doubt that a bike pump will be very helpful.

2. Disable the mbc or turn it all the way IN during the pressure test.

3. Open the oil cap and listen for hissing or bubbling in the crankcase.

4. Listen to the tailpipe to see if you feel or hear air.
