I just installed an Autometer Phantom electric boost guage in my '97
GS-T Spyder. I've tapped into the Fuel Pressure Solenoid to get my boost reading. I've got a good ground and power. My problem is the guage reads a peak of 20 psi and my car is stock besides an Injen air intake and an HKS Super Sequential Blow Off Valve. The guage peaked at 18.5 psi with the stock 2g BOV and I've gained another 1.5 psi with the SQV. I know the factory T25 turbo is not pushing that kind of boost. Does anyone know what the problem could be? The guage is brand new. Could it be a bad guage from Autometer? Thanks for you help.

My autometer mech -30 vac/+30 boost gauge reads 11 psi normally, but it creeps to 20 psi at about 6k rpms. I've got mine teed between intake mani and fuel press reg for the most accurate reading. Boost creep is common with the stock internal wastegate and stock O2 sensor housing. You will tend to creep unless you have those items ported or replaced.:thumb:

I hooked the guage up to a constant power but always on (not good for a permanent fix) but to test if it made a difference, and it did! i get the 19 to 20 at idle you are and everything and with a little reving doesn't go about 0 , so i still am in search of a constant that stays on through start up but not on when the cars off??? someone out there must have found one? also, which wire off the ignition (key unit) is the power? i have two always hot red wires until i start the car (think its theft wires), and a set of yellow with red stripes off the black peice behind the key that is wrapped in a red plastic)????

Here is the best and easiest way to hook up your power:

This will allow the guage to dim along with the dash lights.

If he's talking about power to the sending unit I wouldn't advise using the dimmer switch.
If it doesn't require much power, try using your radio connection. Just check under your fuse box(under the hood).
