boost gauge wiring and door lock problem

Ok so the guy that did my boost gauge wiring half assed it so the thick black wire is running outside my driver side door instead of inside the car the guy said I have to run it through the firewall if I want it inside but I have know idea how to do it and also my key won't open ky driver side door but it will open my passenger side just fine....the guy I bought it from said it worked just fine for him so idk if its like a factory alarm or something help would be appreciated
 
Electric or mechanical boost gauge? and is the key not unlocking the door, or is the handle broken and not releasing the door?
 
I believe its a mechanical and the key is not unlock it it goes in fine but it won't turn left or right nomatter how hard I try
 
Someone probably snapped a door handle and swapped it out. Unless something inside the door is binding up, the most likely answer is that your key doesnt match the lock cylinder.

Mechanical boost gauge should have 2 wires and a reference line. Line goes to a vacuum line at the intake manifold, the 2 wires are for the light, positive and negative. Hook the Pos to a switched power source and ground the Neg to the chassis.
 
Ok so do you think I should get another door lock? And if its 2 wires then I might have an electric boost gauge instead I don't really know the difference
 
You'll need to talk to a locksmith about the cylinder, I don't know if they can key a door cylinder to match your ignition. If not, you'll have a separate key for you door, then the original one for everything else.

Take a picture of the front and back of the boost gauge and post it up here.
 
I tryed uploading photos earlier but its not letting me I don't know why but all it is 1 thick wire wrapped around in some black tube coming from the outside of thd engine bay to the boost gauge in my car

DSMKID: I would assume you have either (a) A cheap boost gauge that doesn't have a light in it. In this case, that black line is a tube going to your intake manifold. It allows air to push into the gauge and give you a reading. OR (b) Its an electronic gauge and it has several wires inside that black wrap. Does it plug in to the gauge or does it have a brass fitting that it goes into?
 
Lol well you were right about the no light part and it doesn't even a cover for the front I can touch the needle haha I didn't put it in the kid I bought it from did I will uprgade to a better one in the near future so yea I'm assuming ita a the cheap boost gauge since it does plug into the gauge and for the other guy I think I know the problem with my lock after seeing that picture the my lock rod isn't attached to the door lock looks like it came off I looked inside everytime I turn the key the lock rod just bangs against the lock
