toronto,
hey guys i installed my boost gauge today its a black face VDO gauge...
so i installed it and wires everything to the cigrette lighter on the arm rest in the 1g ...and attached the hose to the P on the intake manifold...and everything was okay it read -20 at idle but when i start driving the boost doesnt go past 0 and stock ones goes to 0.5 bar..WTF is up that i tink its all hooked up right too...can anyone help please???

i cant hook it up there....i removed all the emissions hoses???? or can i just connect to the solonoid ??/ if i cant connect to the P where else other than the FPS can i connect it to...im hoping i can skip the TEEing part and just connect the hose to the solonoid and run it to the gauge? will that work? one more thing that hose that you have to TEE from the FPS where it does it run to....maybe i can just reconnect that hose alone and tee it.... OMG

dude just tee it off and get proper boost reading. Its really an easy install, but I agree with others, I couldnt get it to work when I tried tapping it in on the P on the intake manifold. Tapping in directly might work, I dont see why it wouldnt

check it. go to advanced auto parts if you have one. ONE of those parts places has a T fitting sections with a shit load of T all different sizes get small 1 an get a lil black rubber tubing that is small on 1 end and bigger on the other its all together in the same sections you cant miss it. 2nd find the fps hose it should on the bottom in the set of 4hoses possible RED writeing on it easy way to find out. start your car pull the tube if it has vacuum its the right 1 T it use the black rubber thingy for the hard plastic hose for the gauge hoped that helped somewhat very easy i did it in say 10 mins

That P means "Ported". Which means it only sees manifold levels when the throttle plate's closed.

There's a nipple on the front of the plenum on the driver's side of the car. Use that, or T into the hose coming off it.

The 1G manifold doesn't have a nipple on the front on the plenum. TTalon's car sounds like mine - I don't have the BCS harness anymore either - it wasn't there when I got the car - so my only option was to have it plugged into the P nipple on the throttlebody.

Alternately, you can have it plugged into the "A" nipple - but the gauge will only read boost, with no vacuum. This is how mine was setup when I bought my car, I moved it to the P, and it works fine as long as I'm on the throttle.

umm do you guys think maybe its the radius of the hose im using...its 1/4 inch maybe its too big should i try a smaller one.

Your not using the line it came with?
What's the INSIDE diameter of the line your using?

You can use rubber line 90% of the way if you want but I bought mine at the parts store and it was listed as "windshield washer hoes line" and it works fine.

its 1/4 inch but i used steel clamps to tighten it so theres no leaks...and the 1/8 doesnt really fit on the end of the gauge properly but the 1/4 does. oh and its a like plastic hose used for something to do with ice boxes or something like it. it was in the plumbing section of Home Depot ...
