Does anyone know the size of the bolt for the motor mount near the bumper that connects the mount to the frame? Tried looking on the Bolt? Nut? Screw? website thing but I was looking at it from my phone and could not figure it out.

M10 x 1.25mm pitch x 30mm long.

It's not listed in either "What size bolt..." thread.

Thanks. Guess when the previous owner got the timing done it didn't get put back. Also what's the torque for it and is there any way to get close to the correct torque without a torque wrench?

*Update*
Got the m10x1.25 and it was too big for the hole. I guess it's a m8 or the size between m8 and m10.

The bolts (2x) highlighted below are M10 x 1.25mm pitch x 30mm long. If those are not the bolts you want, please specify what you are after as that is what I understood from your first post. Those are the same bolts on all 2Gs and their torque specification is 32 ft.-lbs.

The size between M8 and M10 would be M9 and I guarantee that is not the size of those bolts.

That's the one but the m10 wouldn't fit through the hole on the motor mount. And I don't think they make a m9 that's why I worded it that way. When I went to get the bolt today there were m8, m10, and m12 so I guess it goes by even numbers.

M7 and M9 are actual sizes but are uncommon ones. The 6-bolt connecting rod cap bolts are M9s, for example.

I highly doubt that it is a standard bolt, but if the 10mm bolt is too large, then you might check a 3/8" bolt. If you have the mount out, you could also take it with you to the hardware store to find the right bolt.

That 10mmX1.25 is the correct size for your application. The bolt should not fit thru the motor/transmission mount but should thread into it. You fit it in from underneath and thru the cross-member and tighten it into the mount

That's what I was doing and it wasn't going into the motor mount. The hole on the motor mount seemed to be smaller.

I'm thinking it must be a m8 or 3/8.

I just noticed that your car is n/t. I really have no experience with those so my post is probably of no use. Unless someone drilled and tapped that piece you won't find any 3/8 bolts on a Mitsu. Try the 8mm bolt.

Yea I knew there shouldn't be any standard bolts that's why I figure it's a m8.

Ok just figured there was no m9 because when I looked at a thing you could stick your bolt in to figure out which size it was it had a m8 hole next was a 3/8 hole and next was the m10 hole. And when I looked here Bolt Sizes the only size between m8 and m10 that it shows is 3/8.

Fortunately for you, I checked before I posted the first time. And I'll reiterate what I said before, all 2Gs use the same bolts for that mount to the crossmember.

Unless someone drilled and tapped that piece...
Which is what I was getting at. Since those bolts are originally a M10, if it was simply drilled and tapped, it wouldn't be a 3/8" bolt because 3/8" is smaller than 10mm. The OP claiming the M10 bolt was too large suggests that it could be a 3/8" and it was not drilled and tapped but Helicoiled or something similar.

You may not find a 3/8" bolt, but there is a handful of 7/16" bolts in the cabin of a 2G. Just an FYI.

We learn something every day. Now, I'm going to assume the mount is not off the car since the bolt size is still unknown. Are you certain the bolt holes are aligning to allow you to thread the bolt into the mount from the underside?

They lined up, had someone looking from above to help me line it up since I was just reaching under the car and trying to find the hole blindly. Lined up and was going through crossmember no problem and lined up with the mount hole but wouldn't thread into the mount due to it being to large for the hole (the immature boy in me giggles every time I say it was too big for the hole). Going to go tomorrow and get a 3/8 and m8 and see what works.

*Update*
3/8 fit perfect.
