Well as luck would have it, i just fixed some oil leaks and then there goes my turbo. Checked the shaft play and theres a lot of play and its hard to turn. But i need to go pull some codes for my CEL before i take everything apart so is it ok to drive for a while if i just take off the wastage actuator arm? Thanks for the help.

no cause when it turns it will shoot metal shavings into the motor and eventually the wheel will snap and fall off....so many things could occur. I would recomend you just let it sit til you get a new turbo

Your turbo would have to be pretty blown before you have to worry about the compressor/exhaust wheel falling off. The part about metal shavings and other gunk in your oil is true though. When mine was blown with my old 7-bolt, I figured I'd keep good oil in it and take it real easy...I stopped after a day or two, but when I dropped the pan I found nasty gunk by the oil return line. Bad idea. Have some patience and save a motor.

i see you have a 1g 14b but i have an extra t25 and all that fun stuff..im also in WI somewhat close to you if its an emergency..if your desperate PM me and we can work something out

Thanks for the offer , but im in no hurry, i just wanted to get the codes from my CEL so my car would start up after installing the new turbo and other things. Im guessing its my O2 sensor or TPS sensor becuase im running rich and theres a big power loss (now a huge power loss without the turbo). But i think ill just order a new evo111 and keep the boost down till i get some more supporting mods. Thanks for the replies

you should be able to turn the key to the on position and pull your codes, or at least whatever is in the ecu.

Yeah but my the hot sync cable for my logger is the wrong one so i cant pull them.
