i have a 96 gsx with a 6 bolt auto. 3" exhaust, big 16g,550 injectors and s-afc. i finished the exhaust. i then tuned the s-afc with a safe tune and turned the boost up a liitle too high (i know that now). the car ripped hard until it hit 2nd gear. i let off and the car stalled. i tried starting it the next day and smoke like an S.O.B. i changed the turbo and changed the plugs. their was a ton of oil in all the intake and intercooler piping. i got the car to start and its still running rough, still stalls, and smokes horribly(whitish color).oil blows out of the top of the turbo oil fitting. was it the turbo or more serious problem? im doing a compression check tomorrow. thanks for any info!!!

You replaced the turbo but you still have oil shooting out of the feed line? Sounds like you have some things to fix before you even start the diagnosis process.

The turbo definately blew. That can certainly cause damage to the engine, but it is hard to tell without more data.

so i put a new turbo on,changed the plugs, and cleaned all piping etc. started the car and it ran rough a little. blowing out the excess oil from the original blown turbo. 5 minutes later of just tapping the gas the oil started pouring out of the intercooler piping and turbo intake side again. would a clogged pcv raise my crankcase oil pressure so high that it could start to blow through my turbo seals? its a FP 18g oil fed from the head.

No. If your oil pressure rises you will see your gauge go up... Im pretty sure the vr-4 has an oil pres gauge..If your feeding from the head it is pretty resistricted as it is... IF your oil drain plugged?? Thats the only way i see you getting to much oil pressure built up in a new turbo to blow through the seals.. You sure you cleaned up all the access oil that went through the system and it sounds like you have a boost leak if you can see oil coming through the intercooler..

its the motor in my 96 gsx(6bolt). i checked and cleaned the drain really well. i def washed the piping very well too. i still have to do a comp. check this weekend to see if im in more trouble than im thinking.
