Blowing up a 420a

Depends on the exhaust you put on it. Almost any exhaust will sound raspy if done incorrectly. Check this out. It's mine btw

Not hating on your car but it still doesnt sound any where near as nice and beefy as the 4g63 dsm's. I remember a kid where i used to live had a riced out rs with a header back exhaust. He said his exhaust sounded 10x's better than the 4g63's. He didnt realize mine was a tsi awd. So we had a exhaust tone comparison. He has full 3" exhaust on a n/t.... and i had a 3" o2 housing back exhaust. Mind you both cars had no cats and only 1 resognator. Mine sounded 10x's better . THats when i made my decision.

I assume you mean mod for mod. My fascinate is a very nice phone. Takes HD videos, and impressive recording quality. I don't however, think it replicates the tone exactly. It's very close, just not exact. It sounds slightly different when I'm sitting there in the driver seat with the driver door open, than when it's been recorded.

That said, if the exhaust sound of a motor is what you're after, a V8 will sound a million times better. I only upgraded my exhaust because, well it was leaking and sounded horrible. It's actually very quiet during normal operation. If I had faith in the factory exhaust piping, I would have gone with the extra quiet factory exhaust.

What's more critical is the total length of your resonance chamber/s. As an example, two 12 inch resonators serially located wont sound different from a single 24" resonator.

Also, a turbo engine exhaust will sound better than an identical N/T for a number of harmonic reasons. To a certain extent, sound can be personal preference, but only to a small degree. Engines with similar motor configurations will sound very similar.

I'm not sure I understand why you posted this link.

Was it to prove that it would take too much money to make an N/A 4G63 as fast as a stock turbo one? Or just to show that someone from 2006 realized that it wasn't worth the money and time?

The point I first made, is that the 4g63 wasn't meant to be a N/T powerplant, just like the 420a wasn't meant to be either.

So they could'nt just fix the car in their free time? Let me guess, it was too expensive or not worth it? They don't belong anywhere near a car with that attitude! They should stick to taking the bus, like the suckers they are.

Highly ignorant and highly irresponsible: a dime a dozen in this world. A car goes bad and the jet at the first sign of growing troubles. Cars never get in that bad of condition on their own, it's ALWAYS the owners fault! This is why DSM's are rare nowadays....

I hope when they have kids, they crash and burn alive in their next car.

However OP, to your credit, Bullet's car exists and the Brontosaurus does not. But they're still one of a kind and were both failed arugements.

Here's something really funny for y'all. The only decently built dsm in my area is a 420a making something like 575hp, he calls it an rs-t. (give me a month or two and it will be the only OTHER decently built dsm in the area)

Dyno slips or gtfo. That would make him the second highest known HP in a 420A Eclipse/Talon, so that claim needs support.

You miss the point of my post. I was not arguing with anyone. CrackedDsm initiated an argument without reading and understanding. I clarified.
