Blowing Fuse

my car has been overheating for the past few days and ive just discovered that my fan isnt turning on. checked the fuse and it was blown.

i found a tool lodged in the fan which im guessing is what caused my fuse to blow originally. i just replaced the fuse tonight and it lasted about 2 seconds. my fan spins freely but not a full rotation (maybe like 2 fins before it stops) is it time for a new fan!?

i DID however have a huge ignition problem that was due to a bare wire grounding out. i couldnt drive my car AT ALL. i fixed it up and the car started up great and drove great. i fixed this issue before i bought the new fuse for the fan that blew in 2 secs.

If a tool was stuck in the fan and the motor was stalled, it is possible that the motor windings burnt through the insulation creating a partial short on one or more of the motor windings. Get a 12 volt light bulb or multimeter and hook it up to the fan wires... when the light comes on or the multimeter reads 12-14v your car is trying to turn the fan on. If the light comes on and the fuse doesn't blow, then you've got to replace the fan motor.

just pulled the fan right now and inspected all the wiring. theres no visible damage to any of the wires.
i just connected it to the AC side and it fired right up for a few seconds and blew the AC fan fuse also. this time the fan motor was making noises.
ALSO the wire to my coil that i fixed began making noise again. im starting to suspect that bad wire is the culprit!
imma go ahead and do a few more tests

UPDATE: fixed the bad ground, replaced the radiator fan fuse and this time the fan stayed on for about 30 seconds before it blew the fuse again. in those 30 seconds the fan itself was making a noise that sounded like it was struggling to spin. i made sure nothing was stuck in it.

i think its time for a new fan
